Another way a newspaper is funded is though adverts. Other companies pay The Guardian to advertise their own products, so people can see and potentially buy what they're offering.

One way funding issues affect the drive to online media is through convergence. This is because the demand for different things can all be done on one device, including reading the news. Another way funding issues affect the drive to online media is because media online is more relevant today. This is because people want to keep up with the latest technology, which doesn't reflect print newspaper.
